2018 – A year in review and a look to the future

Well, I have not done well keeping this blog updated..  I have at least kept up posting hobby on Instagram from time to time. Mostly I have just been busy painting, working, keeping the kids busy and trying to sneak games in too! I’ve started new projects, abandoned old ones, and even finished some planned ones!

At the start of 2018 I actually sat down and made my hobby goals on Google sheets. This was….a bit excessive it turns out (click to enlarge)

So I ended up digging this up again at the end of this year to review my progress. Or …. lack thereof. I actually hit some good goals I had, added a bunch of NEW ones to the pile as you can see, and failed in a lot :). It is interesting to note the big drop off in 40k for me, I would not have predicted that.

So I made a new one looking at my hopes for 2019! This time a bit paired back :). The biggest project here is my Emperor’s Children for 30k..I have a lot waiting for paint!

I have 4 favourite accomplishments I finished in 2018 I’d say…

My Iron Warriors coming to a “close” (lets be real I’ll add more later for sure..)

My Legio Fureans titanicus battle group (more to come for them for sure)! They still need decals but that is just a waiting game for ForgeWorld to make them. I also plan to add banners later on.

My oldhammer 2nd Edition Ultramarine force – I got this done up in a very short time span for a doubles event and they do still lack decals and final basing (green flock)! I love how they turned out though.

And finally a full city table I got together for a 30k narrative event. I have a ton more terrain around to finish but I love how this came together!

2019 is starting with my trying to finish off my Goliath gang (as it stands at this moment) which is about 70% done. A couple more gangers plus hangers on and they will be ready to go!
